'Salary Statement' not displayed from a certain client

Dears,

We have implemented SAP EP 7.3, with backend ERP 6.0 EhP5.

The goal is to exploit the XSS (ESS & MSS)

After logging onto the EP, from a certain client (MS IE 8, running on MS Windows 7), whenever we access the option : 'Employee Self-Service -> Payments -> Salary Statment,  the salary statement is displayed.

With the same EP user, but from another client (also MS IE 8, running on MS Windows 7), the same path / links simply does not produce any change in the web page displayed.

I assume this is something related with the settings of the IE ?

Any suggestions would be highly appreciated.

Thanks.

Reda

Hi Reda,

Could you comapre proxy settings of IE 8 on both the machines. I guess SAP servers IP address or hostname is not maintained in the bypass proxy section of affected desktop.

Hello Deepak,

First of all, thank you for your interest and your reply.

Unfortunately the problem still presists.

I checked that the proxy settings are the same on both clients.

I tried everything : Disabling the pop-up blocker, allowing the Javascript, cookies, Active X,...etc., but with no success.

I forgot to mention at the beginning that the message : javascript:void(0);  appears on the status bar of the IE session, when I click the required link.

Best regards.

Hi Reda,

Could you clear the cache history and delete all cookies from the browser of the affected desktop.

Disable windows firewall on the desktop

Take a restart of the machine.

Check whether you are able to ping portal hostname and backend ECC hostname from that desktop.

Then check whether salary slip is visible or not in portal.

Dear Deepak,

Thank you for your cooperation.

The problem was solved by simply re-installing MS Windows on the client.

Surprisingly, on the same client where the problem with the MS IE existed, when using Mozilla Firefox, the problem did not occur !

Anyway, thank you again for your cooperation.

Best regards.

Reda
