SAP IDM 7.2 SP 7 - Delegation icon in TO DO Task

Hi ,

We have installed SAP IDM 7.2 SP7 as part of IDM Upgrade . When we do initial configuration on Approval Workflow & post testing we have identified that AUTO DELEGATE Button or ICON is not showing up in our User Interface . We have activated Manual Delegation option in the approval Task in the workflow .

TO DO task in our installation screen shot is entirely different from SAP screen shot provided in document "Creating role approvals" Section

8.1 Enabling Automatic Delegation from the "To Do" Tab  . Can any one help . We are on installation pack SP 7 .

Thanks for your guidance , Issue was related to AS JAVA . Our System was on AS JAVA 7.0 which is not supported by new User Interface Screen . We are upgrading to AS JAVA 7.2  Version to get this issue resolved ,

Hi Jerry,

We've been caught out with a similar thing. Have SAP provided the note/documentation that states AS Java 7.0 is not fully supported as it is still in the PAM for IdM 7.2.

Any reason as to why you are not upgrading to NW Java 7.3 ?

That's right. The PAM and the UI Installation document still refer to AS Java 7.0

Hi Ian ,

Please see SAP communication on this issue below .

"If you are running AS Java 7.1 or higher, make sure that the checkbox

"Enhanced approval UI" is enabled under the Options-tab on your

identity center configuration.

If you are running AS Java 7.0, the enhanced approval UI is not

supported, and you will not get this functionality in the webui."

In our case we are upgrading to AS JAVA 7.2 to get this issue corrected . Also they have updated the same as part of their HELP document.

Allow manual delegation

Note: This setting is not used if you run the Identity Management User Interface on SAP NetWeaver AS Java 7.0.

Select this check box to specify that manual delegation is enabled in the Identity Management User Interface.

HI Murali ,

No , We don't have a specific reason on not doing so . We just selected AS JAVA 7.2 based on Program Level guidance  in our Organization which are applicable to other systems also .

Hi,

As per the documentation "The approver can configure this from the "To Do" tab, or it can be done by updating the attributes MX_AUTODELEGATE_MSKEY and MX_AUTODELEGATE_MESSAGE of a user from a task or job."

I believe this should show up straightaway in the To Do tab. Did you check with SAP as why this icon went missing after the upgrade ?

Hi Jerry,

Did you upgrade the User Interface component of IDM to 7.2 SP7?

You have to use the .sca files to upgrade your User Interface.
