Does CCMS Agents still exist on NW 7.0 EHP2?

Hi all,

We have recently upgraded our managed system to ECC 6 Ehp5 SAP Netweaver 7.02 which is connected to a Solution Manager 7.0 Ehp1 SP24.

I would like to know if CCMS Agents are still used on NW 7.02? I am getting a little bit confused from what I have read which says that the CCMS agents were replaced by the SMD Agents and on the other hand we can still provide metrics with CCMS Agents to consume with solution manager for example.

On the managed system, the RZ20 is still providing metrics. Are those metrics being provided with a CCMS agent Or with the SMD agent and the host agent which are both when running are "simulating" CCMS agent functions?

Hi,

You no longer require CCMS agents, if both of the following conditions are fulfilled:

-->The monitored system has a release as of SAP NetWeaver 7.0 EhP2

-->The central monitoring system (CEN) has a release as of SAP NetWeaver 7.0 EhP1

In this case, the CCMS agents’ functions are performed by NetWeaver Management Agents
