sql4sap installation problems

Dear all,

I´m facing problems installing SQL 2008 R2 for sap the DVD shipped by sap that includes Service Pack 1 and Cumulative Update 1. allways it stopping with the error "Return code -2068052377". They recommend me to check the note 1144459 but there they recommend to use the DVD media # 51041678 that it´s the one i have, so what could be the problem.

The installation is on Windows 2008 R2 Server 64bit virtualized on vSphefe.

Hi Nelson,

1. Don't leave space between the folder name

SAP ECC 6.0 --> SAPECC6.0

SQ L 2005 SP3-->SQL2005SP3

2. Goto the below directory

H:\SAP_DVDs\SAP ECC 6.0\SQ L 2005 SP3\x64\EnterpriseEdition\Servers\

click on setup.exe

First of all uninstall it

and then install it following the above method

I dont think this is due to a problem with the DVD provided by SAP.

It looks more like an issue with the UAC on the Windows machine.

Have you tried installing it after disabling it ?

Hi all,

I´m downloading the DVDs and Internet here in Africa-Mozambique is not that fast, I also discovery that the sql 2005 was not good, i´m coping it again and will try.

But I´m trying with the old sql 2005 and i can see any news while the logs says installing . . .

Did you try to download the above mentioned DVD's and install it?

I believe it will work... if not, please give a try.

But i have the original DVD received from SAP, should i send it to garbage and download another one?

Hi Nelson,

Yes. Please download the DVD's from service.sap.com/swdc .

In addition , please download the  file vcredist_x86.exe from the below link and install it and then try installing the SQL server. Sometimes, SQL server 2008 R2 needs Microsoft C++ runtime libraries.
