Run time error Message_Type_X, while executing ABAP programe from NetWeaver Portal

from last week we are started to face an ABAP dump 'Meessage_Type_X' on our R/3 System. This dump occurs when user try to run ABAP Program (Y Program) from our NetWeaver Portal. As click on link, sudden dump occurs in system. this is not each time, only to few users and sometimes.

we have upgraded sp on our R/3 Production system last week upto BASIS Patch level 23 & HR patch level 79. we are also using updated GUI version 710, 720.

Please help.  Detail dump enclosed.

The problem is not related to any specific user or Program. some times when user try to run r/3 ABAP program from Enterprise portal, he gets dump. and then this dump occurs many with that users. after few time it works fine.

that R/3 ABAP program is working very fine from SAP GUI. not a single issue reported. But with Portal, we have received so many calls. It started when we have update HR patch up to 79 patch level.

The point I wanted to convey is to check whether this is happening due to some compatibility issues.

If this issue is only affecting a few set of users then you need to identify how these users are different to others who are not facing this issues.

Maybe users are randomly facing this issue (this is not mentioned in your message).

You have mentioned in your post that there are 2 versions of GUI used. In most cases the MESSAGE_TYPE_X dumps are related to GUI.

When you say that you are using the update versions of GUI 710 and 720, be aware that 710 version has been out of support for a while now. 720 will be out in a month.

When you say that the issue happens from portal, is the portal used for SSO purpose ?

How are the users executing these reports.

Also the problem is only with the Y programs then you need to check with the development team as well.

Suggest the user who gets dumped out to check from another system with a different version of GUI.

Also contact the developer of the custom programs to analyze the issues.

  It seems to be  a problem with SAPGUI only. 

Message_TYPE_X happens for many reasons...

In order to fix this issue, you can try to update the SAPGUI to latest version and PATCH available and see whether it works. Usually it works...

Sometimes if you do a kernel upgrade, it is also recommended to install the latest SAPGUI patch.

Please try to update the SAPGUI to latest version and patch and see whether it helps.

but the problem is occurring with Portal. is there any relation between Portal and SAP GUI.
