Payment Advice is not Balancing

Hello Expert,

I’m creating a Payment Advice (T Code FBE1) and having an error in one scenario. If I’m entering the Payment Amount in Header section first and line items through Fast entry with amounts then I am not seeing any error message.

Payment Advice Entry without Error

Header: Payment Amount $1000

Fast Entry: 1 Line Item Payment Amount $400

                  2 Line Item Payment Amount $600

Overview section will look like as follows

Payment Amount            $1000

Item Total                       $1000

Balance                        $0.00

Payment Advice Entry with Error

Steps:

Header: Payment Amount $0.00 (I left it blank deliberately)

Fast Entry: Line Item Payment Amount $400

                  Line Item Payment Amount $600

I’m entering the Payment Amount in Header section after entering Line items in Fast Entry 

Header: Payment Amount $0.00

Now Overview section will look like as follows

Payment Amount            $1000

Item Total                       $1000

Balance                        $1000-

Why this is not balancing to $0.00?

I’ll really appreciate any help.

Hi Sunny,

Let double click to every line item to see the detail of this line item, then choose Overview again, the amount is updated like:

Payment Amount            $1000

Item Total                       $1000

Balance                        $0.00

Thanks Julie for your help. I double clicked on only one line item and it balanced the Payment Advice.

Currently if the balance is not zero in Payment Advice then the system shows a warning message. Can I convert this warning message into an error message with a help of configuration?

Hi Sunny,

For changing message, you can go to tcode OBA5, set E for both Online and Batch Input for message number 054.

But, in this tcode, I cannot find the application area FA to have this message.
