Sourcing 9.0 and CLM

Hello Experts

I am in middle of designing a soluction for Sourcing 9.0 and CLM on Linux and Oracle 11.2.0.3.

The install guides from SAP recommed that the SAP NW 7.3 Database should be separated from Sourcing Database.

How should this be addressed?

1. Should the Oracle Instance for Sourcing be on a different server?

2. Which Oracle DB Install software should I be using from SAP or from Oracle?

3. Is it possible to put both SAP NW and Sourcing Oracle Instances on the same server?

Regards

Hello,

Regarding #1 & #3, in general our recommendation is to have Oracle installed on a separate server. If you are planning to use NW on Oracle, then it may get a little weird trying to install another Oracle instance on the same server. It may not even be possible.

Regarding #2,   I'm not sure how licensing works with Oracle for NW. You may have to check on that. Else you could download it from Oracle and use that provided you have the license.

Note, NW requires a DB to run and Oracle is one of the options you can choose. The Oracle install I’m referring to above is for Sourcing.

Hope this helps.

Regards,

Vikram
