BO4 - Object Level security

Hi,

Trying to make an object only visible to a group of user sin IDT tool.

How is teh best way to achieve this.

Looking at idt manual - talks about setting to resticted - can't see where can choose the group to restrict it to.

Looking at admin manual talk of principals granted controlled access etc.

How do you grant a group of users to be controlled users?

Anybody know how to achieve this?

Thanks

Philip,

If you want to do Object Level Security it's done by clicking on the Objects in the IDT and going to the Advanced Tab and set security in the Access Level section.   If you want to standard security it is also done using the IDT tool - Window - Security Editor.

Object Level Security is NOT done via the CMC,

Hi Ajay,

I right-clicked object in universe in IDT tool set object level access to Controlled.

Granted controlled access to universe to the group concerned via the CMC and it works.

Users in the group which have been granted controlled access see the object in the universe, ones which only have public access donnot.

This is done via the CMC and admin manual specifically taks about object level access to universe objects being done this way.

Believe need to use the CMC for the later step need to use CMC as well as IDT tool for object level security/access.

Thanks
