No SolMan7.1 in sapinst list of SR1 Installation Master

Hello,

I would like to install a SolMan 7.1 SR1 with Oracle RDBMS on Solaris.

I have ordered the DVDs from SAP web site.

In the 38 DVDs there is no SolMan Installation Master.

But there is a SWPM 1.0 Installation Master.

The DVD id is 51045123_1.

When I start sapinst from SWPM 1.0 Installation Master there is no SAP Solution Manager 7.1 SR1 in the system list.

1. Where is this Solman hidden in the SWPM sapinst list?

2. Which DVD have you used to start sapinst.

Hi,

Please download the latest SWPM as per the note Note 1680045 - Release Note for Software Provisioning Manager 1.0

Please see the attached picture for your reference.

With SWPM 1.0 you will get an option to install Solman 7.1 SR1.

Please refer the above note.

Do you mean that SAP ships 38 Installation DVDs without providing a suitable sapinst?

Recently, SAP has started to remove SAPINST from the istallation dumps..

SAP Recommends to use latest SWPM which is almost like SAPINST.

Thats the reason , you didnt get the SAPINST .

Thanks for this complement of information.

But there is still something that I do not understand.

SAP ships 38 DVD including 2 SWPM Installation masters DVD.

But these two DVD are useless.

Is it correct?

Not like that.

It seems that SWPM DVD's is not the latest one that SAP shipped was not the latest one ...

Since SAP can't ship the update DVD's every time.. SAP recommends to check the service market place often  for the updates and download the latest SWPM software.

So please download the latest SWPM and continue with your installation.

Your are right.

SAP ships the SWPM 1.0 classical DVD although we have to use Software Provisioning Manager 1.0 SP 01 for NW 7.0x.
