How to restrict a shipment from being created if the weight and volume of the deliveries in the shipment is greater than vehicle's weight and volume capacity.

Hello Experts

I have a requirement in which I need to prevent a shipment from being created in case the total weight of the deliveries in the shipment is more than weight and volume capacity of the vehicle or split the delivery or shipment .

I am getting a information message that weight is more than the vechile weight when I try to save the shipment but it's still getting saved . Please help me with this process and explain the process in detail, if anybody has worked previously on this.
