creating a new sap instance

Hi all,

I have configured a sap system ABAP + JAVA on one box and called SDV  that is development system, now there is a need to create a QAS system for Quality how do I do it. they must run on the same box.

I´m running windows 2008 r2 enterprise with ms sql server 2005, the CPU and memory resources are ok.

How do i do it?

Hi Nelson,

First of all you need to define the directory for QAS,

Suppose for DEV

1. sap application

2. sapdata for DEV

3. saplog (mssql)

4. saptemp(temporary log for msssql)

In the same way create a different drive for QAS as well , which will be easier to manage.

You can use the same directory structure for DEV system to install the QAS.

Instance number :

Suppose the instance number of DEV system is 00 (DEVMGS00) and 01 for (SCS01 ) then you can select 02 for central instance(DEVMGS02) and 03 for central service instance (SCS03)

I have a simple structure like this:

E:\usr\sap\SDV

This was created automatically during the setup process.

Now how do I proceed?

Hi Nelson,

When you install the quality system , suppose you use the SID SQV , then you will find the SDV and SQV directory structure under E:\usr\sap directory.

You can install it. IF you need extra info you can wait for other to reply.
