Customer plant number for EDI

Hello,

Is there a place in SAP customer master to store the customer's plant number? If not in customer master, where would the data be stored so it would be used for EDI transactions?

We do not use IDOC or true EDI, but we do create a flat file which we transmit to a provider to convert to EDI X12 format.

We store customer's vendor number is custom field but do not have see a place to store the customer plant number.

Thank you,

Bela

I don't see any standard field in customer master to maintain customer's plant. So you may need to use any unused field or you may need to add a Z-field in the customer master to handle the data. Alternatively you can maintain a Z-table, where in you can add the customer+their plant details for EDI processing.

Thank you Shiva. That is what I expected but wanted a second opinion.

There are attribute fields already there that can be used or use classification.

Hi Rocha/ Shiva,

Why cant we use  Delivering Site in sales area data shipping tab for the same reason?

Thanks,

The reason is that the field "Delivering Site/Delivering Plant" is intended for the vendor default plant that is used for shipping. The customer Plant is based on the receiving faciltity.
