SAP startup Failed

Hi All,

While starting SAP system through MMC or comand line as well.

I am facing the below issue .

Startup Failed:

Can not read the registration directory  usr/sap/sid/sys/global/sapcontrol

Please suggest and guide how to fix the issue

Hi Sap,

You can check the services for sap and also check whether the global directory is accessible from global.

Note 1339625 - SYS folder missing after undeployme​nt

Hi all,

Now i am bale to start the system,but JSTART.exe stopped .

trace file is attached .

Node 'bootstrap' failed with exit code 503

Seems like theconnection to the database cannot be initialized, read info in the link...

Hello

I am not sure how the above note is valid to your system as it is valid for a Unix system and you have a windows system.

Anyway, what changes have you done prior to this on the system ?

Was there a kernel upgrade or anything of that sort.

Please provide the following information

1. AS ABAP or JAVA System

2. Did you make any changes to the system recently(such as kernel, file chnages etc)

paste the startup log files

Hi Balaji,

This is as java standalone system.

no changes done from my side like kernel etc.

actually system works fine till yesterday ,yestrday IT team applied MS patches without any info system restarted thrice after that i am facing the issue .

Please check jstart log and suggest me.

Hi RB,

I have not apply  the above note but i got the idea (check the services for sap and also check whether the global directory is accessible from global.)

and i have copied global directory from one location to another location after that i am able to start the system,but jstart.exe stopped.

I have not done kernel upgrade etc,IT team applied patches rebooted server thrice after that i am facing the issue .

Hello,

Please check jvm_bootstrap file in work directory. It will give you the cause of the bootstrap error.

You need to provide the trace files to understand the issue.

Provide all the relevant trace files when you ask for help.
