NO CCMSPing data available - but we don't even use it..?

Hello!

yesterday I made a update from Introscope 8.2.4 to Introscope 9.1.0.2 I followed the Instguide from SAP, and the installation finished successfully.

After installation I re-run the SOLMAN_SETUP and the basic configurations in SM_WORKCENTER.

Today I wanted to check my systems in SM_WORKCENTER -> System Monitoring.

But all of my monitored systems are grey - No CCMSPING data available.

We never used CCMSPING before. In Transaction RZ20 under CCMSPING is no System.

Also in RZ21 no CCMSPING is even activated.#

What went wrong? Where can I deactivate this?

Hi Bastian

A lack of information is keeping you from getting the right answer I think .

You can provide some more information / explain in more detail what used to work and has stopped working?

Some information:

System monitoring is based on CCMS agent monitoring which is the "old" way of monitoring SAP systems.

Technical monitoring is based on diagnostics agents and is the "new" way of monitoring SAP systems.

CCMSping is still used & valid for availability monitoring of your SAP systems. The fact that the icons are grey in the system monitoring workcenter means that CCMSping availability monitoring is either not configured or configured and not running properly.

Possibly the execution of solman_setup transaction has activated this.

Looks the same on my system.

It's only stating the obvious, it cannot display ccms data, as you haven't setup ccms.

I'd suggest you consider configuring the Technical Monitoring.

It's a great tool, and relatively easy to setup and use.

All you will have to do when done is check the green lights on a big screen or check your mailbox!

Hey David,

thanks for the hint for the technical monitoring, Indeed, the configuration was very easy and it's working very satisfying.
