ERP6 SR3 kernel versions for WS2003, WS2003R, WS2008, WS2008R

Hello,

I have red through appropriate notes in subject mentioned

above, but couldn´`t clearify all info I need.

a) Kernel version for WS 2003 works at WS 2003R

b) Kernel version for WS2008 doesn`t work at WS2008R

But does kernel version for WS2003 and WS 2003 R work

with WS2008 ?

Hello Oskar,

The kernel for win 2003 / 2003R will not work for win 2008.

For details you can refer to the SAP Note

1486772 ( Note 1486772 - SAP Systems on Windows Server 2008 R2. ).

thanks for your answer.

I have red through note 148 677 2  before writing this blog.

This note refers to WS 2008 R not WS 2008.

It says you have to patch kernel if you want

to use ex. NW 7.0 SR3. with WS 2008 R

Meanwhile I took a look at installation manual for NW 7.0 SR3

AS ABAP  (=  NW version  in concern ).  That NW version works with

WS 2003, WS 2003 R as well as with WS 2008 but not with

WS 2008 R without appropriate patch of kernel as stated in note

mentioned above.

Hi Oscar,

Sap kernel for windows platforms works for x64 architecture.

As far as I know is not compiled to a certain win release.

You can check PAM if you are not sure.
