Change of Contract Account /Contract

Dear Experts;

In our project we had segments HH and SME.

For HH we have different contract account category and for SME we have different account category.

Now in our project there is a requirement to re-classify few set of customers from SME to HH category.

Can any one suggest how we can do this ?

The current option we have is to do Move-out and Move-in ? Is this the only option possible ?

Hi Sagar,

Contract account category is a non-modifable field. Once a Contract account is created with a particular contract account category, it can't be changed.

Standard SAP does not provide any functionality to change the contract account category. The rational behind this is that the contarct account category is used to determine the contract account number ranges, and hence if there is change in the contract account category, it may cause discrepancies in SAP w.r.t. the CA number ranges.

Is the contract account category driving any functionality or reporting in your System?

If yes, then I recommend you to use the current option that you are using.

Alternatively, you can also develop a program which would update the field contract account category (FKKVK-VKTYP) based on the contract account as input.

If no, then the best would be use account determination ID as the segregating factor b/w the two segments.
