How to Install SAP Automatic Workstation Update in SAP GUI 7.30

Hi

I need to know how to install automatic workstation update on workstations. we are planning to implement SAP GUI 7.30 Installation Server. On the test server I have created a package for SAP GUI 7.30 with patch level 1 and successfully installed this package on my laptop. But after patching the sever (patch level 2) and configuring automatic workstation update feature in the server I still can't see the update happening.

I am bit confused as to how automatic workstation update feature works.

Please advice.

Regards

Check documentation SAP_Front_End_Installation_Guide.pdf (3.9 Configuring SAP Automatic Workstation Update) in SAPGUI media.

Hi Roman

Thanks for the reply.

I have already read the documentation and I was successful in testing all the features/steps mentioned in the documentation except Automatic GUI workstation Update.

Thats why I posted this query.

I need to know are there any additional steps to be performed on the workstation side to activate automatic workstation update service or you just need to create the package, define the workstation update on the server and when you deploy it on the workstation it will create the service for automatic update.

Kindly advice.

Regards

Hello Imran,

In nwsapsetupadmin, under 'Services' => 'Configure Automatic Workstation Update' you need to

add the installlation server into the dialog box and this should then notifiy any workstations

that are connected to the server that there is an update.

Ensure you are using the latest sapsetup patch from note referenced below:

http://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1587566

Hello Imran,

All looks as expected.

Can you upload the sapsetup logs from the server for analysis please?
