Solution Manager 7.1 (installation master)

Hello,

I'm new to BASIS and am trying to install SolMan 7.1. When I run the installer it gives me the information as attachment. Which of the options shown represent the Solution Manager 7.1?

To install an SAP Solution Manager system running on SAP NetWeaver 7.0 Enhancement Package 2 ABAP+Java from scratch, you have to use the following guides in the following sequence:

1. Master Guide - SAP Solution Manager 7.1 (https://websmp204.sap-ag.de/~sapidb/011000358700000288992011E)
   You start with the master guide. The master guide is the leading document. It contains the business scenarios as well as the related implementation process sequences for the software components you need to install to realize these business scenarios.
2. Media List - SAP Solution Manager 7.1 SR1 (https://websmp204.sap-ag.de/~sapidb/011000358700000514202011E)
   The media list provides you with information about the data carriers you need to install your SAP Solution Manager system.
3. Installation Guide - SAP Systems Based on the Application Server ABAP+Java of SAP NetWeaver on <Your Operating System> : <Your Database>
   This installation guide describes in a generic way how to install an SAP ABAP+Java system based on SAP NetWeaver 7.0 including Enhancement Package 2.
   To perform the installation, use software provisioning manager 1.0. The latest version of the software provisioning manager 1.0 includes up-to-date corrections for SAP NetWeaver-based installation and system copy. Hi,

You have downloaded the wrong DVD to install solution manager 7.1

Please open the below link and click on Release 7.1 -> media list for solution manager 7.1

For installation Master , you need to download the software provising Manager 1.0... Refer the note 1680045

Download the latest version of the software provisioning manager 1.0 archive SWPM10SP<support package number>_<version number>.SAR from http://service.sap.com/swdc  -> Support Packages and Patches -> A – Z Index -> S -> SL Toolset -> SL Toolset <release> ->Entry by Component -> Software Provisioning Manager -> Software Provisioning Manager 1.0 -> <Operating System>.

Please download the latest SWPM as per the note Note 1716219 - SAP Release Note for SL Toolset 1.0 SPS06  &  Note 1680045 - Release Note for Software Provisioning Manager 1.0

You will get an optino to install Solution Manager 7.1

If you're using MSSQL you can also setup sql server 2012.

Hi Costa,

   Please correct me  whether my suggestion is incorrect..

As far as I know we need to use SWPM which is recommended by SAP from the past few days.

If it is wrong, I will correct it.

Hi,

Please login to root user and set the following environmental variable.

export TEMP =/usr/sap/SID/temp

create one temp folder inside /usr/sap/SID and give full permission to temp folder.

Then try to start the SAP installation and check again.

I would like the installation to continue where I was. I did what you suggested but the installation process starts fully. I need to continue where you left off. Is it possible?
