Setting up Certifications

I am setting up a certification and the system is not validating the user does not have the certification in the POD.  I have assigned the certification to the operation and linked the operation to the work center and resource. The certification is not assigned to the user, and the user is not in the user group with the certification.  Is there an activity that has to be hooked somewhere?

I'm working on this deployment and read the KBA Alex suggested but it doesn't resolve the issue. For reference, the KBA Reads:

Symptom

User, which is not certified for a certain Operation, can process SFC on that
Operation.

Environment

SAP Manufacturing Execution

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Create 2 User Groups (UG1 and UG2).
  2. Create a Certification in Certification Maintenance.
  3. Specify User Group UG1 on Enforcement tab.
  4. Attach the certification to an Operation in Operation Maintenance.
  5. Create 2 Users (User1 and User2), which belong to User Groups UG1 and UG2
    correspondingly.
  6. In User Certification Assignment Maintenance assign the Certification to
    User1 only.
  7. Login as User2 and process SFC on the Operation. User2 can utilize the
Operation and there is no error message 13039, which says that user is not
    certified to perform the operation.

Cause

The User Groups, which are specified on Enforcement tab in Certification
Maintenance, appear as the default assigned User Groups in the User
Certification Requirement Details window in Item Maintenance, Operation
Maintenance, Resource Maintenance, and Customer Order Maintenance. Which means
that the certification check will be performed against those User Groups only.
Leaving User Groups field blank enforces all User Groups to the
certification.

Resolution

The system works as designed.

===========================

The difference is that our UG2 is specified on the Assignment tab (I'm assuming this is the same as the "Enforcement tab"), User2 is NOT assigned the certification in Certification Maintenance, and is still able to complete the operation that has the certification requirement.

Removing the Groups Assignment from the Certification worked.

Hello Melanie,

Please, assign Users in User Certification Assignment Maintenance (see help for details). Also check KBA 1618564 - 'Not certified user can utilize a certified operation', which will be helpful.

Regards,

Alex.
