brbackup error

Hi ,

I have SAP 4.7 with oracle 9 on Solaris10 . We have Networker (Legato) as the backup Utility . while taking the backup , we are getting the following error .

Please help............

Hi,

One small doubt.

Can u pl let know what is the total size of the file/s u want to backup and what is the size of the tape which u use for backing up.

also put a higher value for Oracle parameter "sessions" in initSID.ora and through your SPFILE;

The value of sessions in the initSID.ora is 330.

Can you please explain what this parameter means and what relation it has with the backup failure .

This parameters is for number of sessions connecting to your DB. your backup utility is also using at least 1 session to your DB to connect, SAP work processes also use connections, so, if SAP is still up while your backup runs, you might hit the out of session problem.

your parameter of 330 seem to indicate that you have multiple APPS servers. is this the case?

Hi Anthony

Try increasing the value of "savesets"setting in the initMON.utl. The default is 20, try 30.
