Hi Mahemdar,

Could you please tell me with which OS user you are trying to change the password?

Just make sure that user should belong to local administrator group.

Hi RajKumar,

listener is running with ora<SID> user. But I have two ora<SID>s one is for ECC and another one for PI. The listener running with ora<ECCSID> is running fine even I am able to change the password.

My question is,there is no lister running with ora<PISID>, so I am getting an error while installing PI.

Thanks,

Mahendar

Hi Mahemdar,

Login to the server with su - ora<PIsid>.

Paste the output of  ls -l `which lsnrctl'

Hi Mahendar,

Can you try adding ora<PISID> user to Administrator Group and check?

Hi,

Please login as root user.

check whether ora<PISID> is part of dba and oper group in /etc/group..

If not, please try to add it up and restart  your server and check again.

As well as please mv  lsnrctl to lsnrctl_copy and rename lsnrctl0 to lsnrctl and check whether it resolves.

I have faced this issue and for me, I found that orasid is not part of dba and oper group. After adding and restarting the server , everything was fine.

Please check and provide your feedback.

Thanks and Regards,

Hi Vimal,

user ora<sid> is part of dba, oper. But I have moved  lsnrctl to lsnrctl_copy and renamedlsnrctl0 to lsnrctl, it works fine.

Thank you.

Hi Mahemdar,

Login to the server with su - ora<sid>.

Paste the output of  ls -l `which lsnrctl'.

Also check for user ora<sid> whether environement  ORACLE_HOME is set correctly

Hi Deepak,

ora<ECCsid>   13216     1  0 12:30 ?        00:00:00 /oracle/SID/112_64/bin/tnslsnr LISTENER -inherit

orasid   15046 14886  0 15:19 pts/0    00:00:00 grep -i listener

with the ora<sid> of ECC system I am able to stop n start listener. But with ora <PISID> I am not able to change. I am installing PI on running ECC.

Thanks,

Mahendar
