Diagnostics Agent(DAA) is showing IP instead of Host Name

Hi

We have connected Diagnostics Agent(DAA) of managed systems of Solman for Some DAA the IP of the Host is showing in the place of Full Host name.

How to change the host name of these DAAs.

Hi Sriram,

You must have given the IP address while installing the agent.

Please check the agent's instance profile file under DAA/SYS/profile.

I didnt gave any IP during the installation of DAA and verified the profile the host name is maintained correctly and there is no IP ,maintained in the Profile.

Is the host windows or Unix?

Can you do a reverse lookup from your PC using ping -a ip address?

Is the host agent installed & running, try to be on the latest patch level for hostagent.

restart the hostagent

We are in Windows 2008

I am able to ping the sever for from my desktop but one thing to be noted is the IP showing in the place of "full host name" is not the actual Host IP.

I have tried updating the hostagent to latest patch already but no Luck.

Hi Sriram,

Please check in LMDB -> Hosts whether you can see all the information of the host including IP and hostname. This is to confirm that the outside discovery is fine.

Look at SAP Note 1611483 - SolutionManager7.1 - Outside Discovery common error messages.

There is a troubleshooting guide attached to this note.... may help you.
