Partial lot in QM

Hi,

  What is the meaning of partial lot in quality management in inprocess inspection can anyone explain with example. In what way it will be helpful.

In Inprocess Inspection, Inspection point will be assigned in Routing Header. Based on that, Inspection lot will be created for the Production Order release.

At operation level, you have option of defining the Time or Quantity factor.

If you do the confirmation based on In-Process Inspection results with partial lots, then you can enable this. If each partial lot is to be assigned with some batch, then enable that option.

These partial lots will also be used to create Inspection Points automatically using SAP provided Function Modules.

These are mainly used in Process Industries where continuous production carried out & Inspection happens on partial lots.

You can use partial lots to manage goods or materials with different quality characteristics. If you confirm that the goods being produced for a production order are not consistent in quality, you can separate the materials according to their quality characteristics and maintain these quantities in separate partial lots. In this way, you can divide the total quantity of a production order into several smaller partial lot quantities.

Partial lots are typically used in production processes to manage batch materials (either in the form of raw materials or finished products).

As per understanding you are talking about 03,04 & 10 Inspection type.

Now as you said You can not complete the inprocess inspection but still FG produced is required for dispatch.

Actually this is not std SAP flow.

You can not do PGI in FG untill & unless stock is boosted in FG by making GR.so you have to take the UD for all lots produced in 04(or 03).So at the most what you can do fro result recording make all char Long term inspection (this will solve your inspection problem).

but stock posting for 03 or 04 you can  not avoid.
