SAP License Check Failed

Former Member

Dear Experts,

Our PRD portal system is clustered and it is going down due to license check failed.

However i installed license for both the nodes. The thing is it is showing valid license for the node where SCS is running and not for the another node.

Because of this our entire portal system is going down.

Please find the attachment for more clarifications.

Raja. G

Hello Raja,

As long as the License key for the active  SCS node is valid the system should not go down. Can you re-check if the correct hardware key is used for requesting the license for node  where SCS is running ?

Hi Siddhesh,

As i already mentioned tried so many times. I felt no issues with SAP license because the same license is valid whenever i moved the SCS to that node. So portal is not like ABAP showing both the license as valid irrespective of central services.

Hi Raja,

Check the note 678113 if it is applicable to your EP version.

Note 678113 - EP 6.0: Invalid license key

Hi Raja,

May be my question might be very silly.

Can you confirm whether the kernel version in both the node are same??

try to update the kernel patch and check whether it resolves.

Thanks and Regards,

Hi Raja,

Since you are seeing the license from active hardware key system starting with 'S" , other will be shown invalid. Can you please post dev_jstart.log, stdout.log from work directory so that if any other problem is bringing down portal, we can see.

Hi Raja,

It seems that the hardware key starting with R* is not correct.

Can you please double check it?

As well as please move the cluster nodes to the node with the hardware key starting with R* and check whether SAP is coming up..

If not, try to delete the license and apply it again.

Sometimes, this kind of issue might occur.

Thanks and Regards,

Hi Deepak & Vimal,

If you check my screenshot the hardware key is different however it is showing invalid.

If i failover the SCS to another node then another hardware key will be invalid.

I already deleted and installed the same.

Please see the another screenshot to make things after moving to another node.

Please check the same.

Hi Raja,

Since your system is on cluster you need to first apply license on node 1 where SCS is running.

Then you need to failover and ensure system is running on another node and SCS is moved.

Apply license for 2nd node.

This is required becoz hardware key for other node is different.
