Hello,

As the SolMan can connect to a Managed System through RFC connection,

which extra informations are sent from the ABAP SMD to the following Servers?

1. Wily EM

2. Solution Manager

Thanks in advance for your answers.

Please go through these links to get more details about usage of diagnostics in ABAP only environments.

Hello,

After reading this document, especially the page 10,

I understand that Will part of Diagnostic Agent

in an ABAP Managed System is used to provide st06 information.

Am I right?

As I like to understand technical details, could you explain me why

SAP is not exporting st06 informations through the ST-A/PI module?

Thanks in advance for your answers.

Hi,

Diagnostics agent are even required for ABAP only system if you are using for Root cause analysis and Technical monitoring,

Because these agent would help in collecting workload, change and exception data from the managed systems and sent to solman, these information coulnt  nt be collected by typical ccms agent/ as well as read and analysis rfc.

check this more usage of new smd based technical monitoring and comparision with typical ccms based monirtoring here

SAP Community Network Wiki - Technical Operations - SysMon FAQ 02

For wily EM, it is the server side component installed in solution manager itself to get the performance and optimization data from Non abap components , we need to install Wily introscope agent (But we have SMD agent Non ABAP Metrics also) on the client side means your satelite system which collects te workload, change analysis for Non abap systems send the data to the solman Wily EM,

so managed system with abap+java has both SMD and introscope agent, or only SMD this both report to wily EM, where solman get the Java work load analysis information from wily/ ABAP information from SMD.

check any rca guide for better understanding of infrastructre, use the document in the Note 1332428 - Missing data in service sessions from BW/CCDB section 1.2

Thanks

Hello,

This something I miss understand.

As all data collected, even the SAP Host Agent ones, are in the ABAP system,

would you know why SAP has decided to add an extra complexity/brick?

SAP could have used the rfc read connection from the solman to the satellite

to retrieve all the performance data needed?

Thanks in advance for your answers.

Hello Jansi,

This is not true.

In case of an ABAP satellite, the SMD Agent reports to the Solman AND the Willy EM.

If what you were saying was true, the SMD Agent would not report to the Willy EM.
