Hi All,
Need a clarification regarding maintaining series groups.
We have four excise number ranges 2 for domestic and 2 for export.
For maintaining the number ranges in the system, first i need to assign two series groups(for domestic ) to object J_1IEXCLOC and then assign both the domestic number ranges to each series groups respectively.
Next for the other two number ranges also first i need to assign two series groups(for export) to object J_1IEXCEXP and then assign both the export number ranges to each series groups respectively.
Can somebody please clarify.
regards,
Hi,
Yes, your understanding is correct. It is standard practice to assign one number range to one series group. In standard system, one series group is assigned to one number range and vice versa.

Hi,
Series groups can have multiple number ranges but system will pick number range based on priority and year. For the current year what ever number range is assigned to your number range will be picked based on series group. Hence it is logical to assign only once number range per series group per year.
Your understanding is correct.
