BRF - Relation between Level Type and Task ID in Schema

Dear Experts,

With respect to Process Levels in a process schema....what is the relation between "Level Type"(three level types Completion, Approval & Automatic) And "Task ID"?

I came across below statement:

The automatic step is a final means of validating the approval process, Depending on the task ID assigned to the automatic step, the document will then be either approved or rejected.

What is the meaning of above statement?

For e.g. if  there are 3 process levels in a process schema and fourth is Automatic step, now if the Automatic step has a task id "SRM Shopping Cart Rejection", after 3 levels are approved and Automatic step is processed will the SC get rejected instead of approved?

Please explain.

Thanks,

Anubhav

Hello,

it will depends on Evaluation ID you gave to your process level being an automatic level type.

If no Evaluation ID exists, level is always triggered, so your SC will be always rejected.

If an Evaluation ID exists, process level will be triggered based on expressions of this Evaluation ID (BRF transaction).

Laurent.

Automatic approval is always the last process level...correct?

So you mean that workflow end has reached if this step is Automatic approval and  if task is Rejection and process level is triggered(after evaluation) the SC will be rejected even if the Agents approved(and thats how it reached to last step)?

Or in other words can we say that if the Task ID is for Rejection of BO...as the process levels move forward we are moving towards Rejection of BO and not approval?

If that is true then BO will always be rejected?

Apologies for the confusion...could you please explain?

Thanks,

Anubhav

Hi Anubhav,

"Automatic approval is always the last process level...correct?"

--> Depends on your requirement , in case you want last level to be Automatic reject based on certain conditions then you can chose that as well.

TASK IDs are workflow generic tasks created by SAP SRM Process controlled workflow framework.

You can add different task IDs in your process levels as per your requirement.

I suggest you to download PDF File "Workflow in SAP Supplier Relationship Management 7.0 " from

Service Marketplace under http://service.sap.com/srm-inst SAP Business Suite Applications SAP SRM SAP SRM 7.0 Workflow in SAP Supplier Relationship Management 7.0.

On page 16 , it explains different approval decision types:
Decision for Entire Document, Item-Based Decisions for Entire Document etc...

On page 18, it will answer your question about TASK ID and Evaluation ID as well.
