Dear experts,
I have a tricky problem to solve. But I'm sure the experts among you will be able to help me!
I would like to print the first page duplex (double-sided) and the rest of the document simplex (one-sided).
My document consists of 3 master pages: TC, FIRST and NEXT.
- TC is exactly 1 side long (Occurrence = 1)
- First occurs exactly one time (Occurrence = 1)
- Next occurs arbitrarily (Occurrence = 0 .. n)
I tried already a lot of different settings but non of them lead to the solution.
I appreciate any help!
Thanks Philipp
Hi Philipp,
I also have got the same sort of object where I need to print the terms and condition only on second page.
Tried all combination but didnt work out any.
Please let me know if you have found any work around solution for this issue.

Siddharth Patel

Hi Philipp,
Somehow I have managed to print duplex and simplex printing in one form.
We can use two Master page set, one for duplex( with first and back page) and another for simplex(next pages) master page.
It would be difficult to explain the solution in detail. Please let me know your mail address so that I can mail you the downloaded XML and XDP file.

Siddharth Patel
Dear Siddharth,
thanks a lot for your replies!
I managed to print the first page duplex and the rest pseudo simplex, means that a master page was used as place holder for the empty flip side.
This solution works fine if the documents are only needed printed. Unfortunately the empty pages are shown in the PDF files. That's not what our customers expect... if there would be a way to hide the empty pages in the PDF files we would be happy with that solution.
Does your solution look the same or could you solve it for the PDF version as well as for the printed one?
I'm curious to hear from you!
Cheers Philipp
Hi,
I have a similar goal: I need to print an invoice with terms and conditions on the back side of the first page(it fits on one page).
The point I was able to reach thus far is printing the T&C on the last page, but not on the first one.
I was able to do this with the following settings for 1 pageset and 5 masterpages:
- Page Set "Masterpages":
- Printing: Print on Both Sides
- Master Page: mp_FrontPage
- Paper Type A4
- Orientation Portrait
- Presence Visible
- Master Page Applies To Odd (Front) Pages
- Placement No Placement restrictions
- Include Page in Numbering, Start at 1
- In scripting a variable mostly hides the only subform present and the only subform on the content area uses the same variable for visibility. This makes that this page is not visible in most of the cases (and all of the cases where the T&C need to be printed).
- Master Page: mp_Master
- Paper Type A4
- Orientation Portrait
- Presence Visible
- Master Page Applies To Odd (Front) Pages
- Placement No Placement restrictions
- Include Page in Numbering, Start at 1
- Master Page: mp_GeneralTerms
- Paper Type A4
- Orientation Portrait
- Presence Visible
- Master Page Applies To Even (Back) Pages
- Placement No Placement restrictions
- DON'T Include Page in Numbering
- Master Page: Untitled
- Paper Type A4
- Orientation Portrait
- Presence Visible
- Master Page Applies To Blank Pages
- Placement No greyed out
- DON'T Include Page in Numbering
- Master Page: mp_Master
- Paper Type A4
- Orientation Portrait
- Presence Visible
- Master Page Applies To Odd (Front) Pages
- Placement No Placement restrictions
- Include Page in Numbering, Continue numbering
I'm wondering if anybody could help me to figure out what I need to change to print the T&C on the back side of the first page instead of the last.
Maybe I need to use 2 Page Sets as mentioned above, but my attempts so far only seem to make it worse.
