Error While Oracle DB Backup on Tape

Hi All,

We have CRM 7.02 installed on Windows Server 2008 R2 and Oracle 11.2.0.3 DB.

I have configured backup on tape and it is finishing successfully when we are taking only DB backup either Online or Offline.

Now when, we are taking Complete DB backup including redo logs offline or online, it is failing. I can see in DB13 that first part of backup which is DB backup is green status while second part of redo logs backup has finished with errors.

After checking the log files I have found that all the log files has been copied to the tape drive but the backup status is RED. I have also attached backup log file as backup_log.txt to this discussion.

Logs File is as below:

HI,

Please check what is your archive log destination..

login to sqlplus "/as sysdba"and execute ARCHIVE LOG LIST

It will give you the current archive location. copy the archive logs to F:\oracle|SID\SIDARCH and try again

Has anyone changed it?

If yes, please copy the archive files from that new location to F:\oracle\SID\SIDARCH and try to start the backup ,....

It will run successfully.

Imho the log file is self-explaining, if you read it carefully.

Did you?

And what makes you think 'that all the log files has been copied to the tape drive' ?

The brbackup log file is telling you this:

All the log files from F:\oracle\SID\oraarch\SIDARCH1_3743_790879061.DBF to

F:\oracle\SID\oraarch\SIDARCH1_4031_790879061.DBF have been copied to the tape drive.

But brbackup also wanted to save files from

F:\oracle\SID\oraarch\SIDARCH1_2343_790879061.DBF to

F:\oracle\SID\oraarch\SIDARCH1_3742_790879061.DBF, but couldn't find them.

Now it will be your task to find out what happened to those files.

My guess is that for lack of space someone deleted them, or moved them to a place where brbackup cant find them.

hope this helps.
