Hi All,

I am about to start a upgrade SCM 5.1 to SCM 7.0 EHP 2.

Below is my environment.

Source System

SAP SCM 5.1 SP 11

MSSQL 2005

Windows Server 2008 R2

LiveCache MaxDB

DataBase Size - 2 TB

Target System

SAP SCM 7 EHP2 SP 05

MSSQL 2008

Windows Server 2008 R2

LiveCache MaxDB

My Approach

Approach

We will do a system copy from PRD to DEV and then starting Upgrading DEV.

1 Install SCM Dev and DB MSSQL 2005 and Perform Backup restore from SCM PRD to SCM Dev. Restore Livecache

(Result - SCM 5.1 SP 11 system with MSSQL 2005 Database and Livecache)

2 Perform Preparation steps and start SCM Upgrade using SUM.

3 Perform the Live cache Upgrade.

I have downloaded the stackfile from my solution manager and following the SAP SUM 1.0 SP06 guide. I have extracted SUM  software and started the STARTUP.BAT file.

At EXTRACTION PHASE it is asking for mount point for Kernel DVD for OS WINDOWS_X86_64 and Unicode.

I have downloaded the DVD 51044252 but this is not working I am getting error as "ERROR: The mount point cannot be accessed!"

Can anyone have clue which DVD is it asking for:-

Do I need to use the .sar file that I have download using solution manager along with other patched downloaded using XML stackfile.

Suggestion is very much appreciated.... I will keep this thread updated.

Thanks

Shontu

Hi All,

I move ahead now.

For Kernel I used

DVD 51041988 with complete path mentioning LABEL.ASC file.

Next It ask for Export for which I did not proceed when I mentioned LABEL.ASC file of SCM Export.

When I mentioned the path of DVD 51041544 it worked.

In Next Phase is gives error

Severe error(s) occured in phase PREP_INPUT/INSTANCELIST_PRE!

Last error code set: RFC function 'UPG_READ_SYS_ENVIRONMENT' does not have parameter 'EV_KRN_COMPON'

Hi Stefania,

Manually add the value in function module. This worked in my case.

my problem were wrong environment variables for <SID>adm user , due to system copy!
