Installing patches

Hi experts,

this is a dull question but still I have the doubt...

Right now I'm using SAP BOBJ 4.0 SP 4 and want to upgrade to SP 5 so we can use all the benefits of this new version, but when i wanted to download the upgrade i find the there are 5 different files varying from patch 1 t opatch 4 .

My question is, Can i just download the file  "SBOP BI Platform Servers 4.0 SP05 Patch 4 " without installing the previuos patches? or will this corrupt the current installation.

Please let me know cause there are like 10 gigabytes of difference between installing all patches and only the last one.

Hi Cristian,

Best place to find out about forward fit plans for BOBJ is here: https://service.sap.com/~sapidb/011000358700000272572011E

It's located at the bottom of this page in the SAP Support Portal: https://service.sap.com/bosap-maintenance-schedule

You'll notice in the document that BI 4 SP 4 contains fixes of  Patch 5.1-5.3

Hope that helps!

Thanks Kristen,

the links you posted are helpful, but in the end the question remains:

right now i have SBOP BI 4.0 SP04

Should I download each patch (for example in client platform)->

SBOP BI Platform Clients 4.0 SP05

SBOP BI Platform Clients 4.0 SP05 Patch 1

SBOP BI Platform Clients 4.0 SP05 Patch 2

SBOP BI Platform Clients 4.0 SP05 Patch 3

SBOP BI Platform Clients 4.0 SP05 Patch 4

I mean, if I upgrade directly from SP04 to SP05 Patch 4 will I have skipped some components or fixes?

You can directly upgrade to your target .

You dont need to patch one by one.

This is one of the advantages in patching in BO.

Before patching please make sure that you have complete backup available.

Search for the upgrade guide or note that will give you the details of the files to be backed up.
