Technically there are 4 scenario possible.
The add-ons can be deployed in a number of different technical scenarios depending on whether they are hosted together and/or with the SRM server. The scenarios are listed below:
1.Fully distributed the SRM server and the CAT and CSE add-ons are installed on separate web application servers. Catalogue publishing (from CAT to CSE) is via the XI system
2.Combined instance for SRM server and CAT separate instance for CSE. Catalogue publishing is via the XI system
3.Combined instance for CAT and CSE separate instance for the SRM server. Catalogue publishing is direct
4.Combined instance for SRM server, CAT and CSE the SRM server and the CAT and CSE add-ons are installed on the same web application server .Catalogue publishing is direct.
The installation depend on data volume and it's performance. These data are accessed by ERP system as well so performance is the main issue which lead to these installation decisions.

Hi Eswar
If you have CAT & CSE in same client, I think definition of users, roles and system connections etc will be easy. You do not need to define them separately. If you have SRM server also in the same client, it's still better. You can even use same business partner master.
If you have large volume of data & many catalogs, then CAT & CSE can be in different clients. Your uploading/maintaining catalogs should not affect your shopping cart users searching catalogs(CSE).
