How to print a webdynpro JAVA view to PDF?

Hi,

There is a requirement to print a webdynpro view. The application allows user to create a request and after submitting his request , he should be able to print the request details.

I have tried the solutions listed in the threads below but it did not seem to work:

1. Using Javascripts - Works when run from NWDS but not on Portal (http://scn.sap.com/thread/174601)
2. itext not supported on JDK 1.4(Portal is on 7.0 SP6)

Is there any other simple way to print a view in Webdynpro JAVA?
