Waiting for synchronization event PREUPTIME=FINISHED in SUM 1.0, SPV 5, PL 11

Hi experts.

Im implementing an update for our solman using the SUM 1.0, SPV 5, Patchlevel 11.

At point 5.5 i had to restart the server and start the shadow instance manually. All looks good but the Java-part stands still at "copy templates".

Before the restart the SUM has allready finished this points.

Now it stands at "copy templates" and in the monitor i see for the java part:

WAITING - Waiting for synchronization event PREUPTIME=FINISHED

I found some notes that some guys changed an entry manually for this point. but this file "sync.dat" doesnt exists.

During the ABAP-part the java-part finished automatically.

Next thing i wanted to do was to restart the SUM.

Hi Dennis,

I came across the similar situation now where I am upgrading SOLMAN system from version 7.0 EHP1 to 7.1 using SOLMANUp tool.I stopped the shadow instance manually in the pre-processing phase : abap phase "MAIN_SHD_RUN/ALTNTAB_FILL" and java phase "GETSYNC_PREUPTIME_FINISHED" and restarted the server.

I restarted the shadow instance manually and started the upgrade from the point it failed.Now the Abap phase is going fine and in Running state,but the java phase is still in the same phase in waiting state.

I get the similar log

WAITING - Waiting for synchronization event PREUPTIME=FINISHED

and I couldnt find any file "sync.dat" in the logs.

Could you please help how can I proceed ? Should I wait for some time so that java phase will continue to run after some abap phase?

As you said the Abap and Java phases have completed now after long wait time.

Looking at the logs I could find the Java phases following the phase where it was Waiting long time were skipped or executed without any action within a minute.

I doubt whether it is ok or any inconsistencies might exist?
