In our production instance of Solution Manager, we have a project of type Template. We'd like to modify the project data by adding new BPH nodes and some documentation. However, when we try to update it, the system gives an error stating "SAP System has status not modifiable".
I understand this is because the system has been set to "Not Modifiable" in tcode SE06. How do we bypass that? How can we update this project without modifying this entry?
Customers are treating production instances of Solution Manager like ECC or SCM when they shouldn't be. My general recommendation is for them to keep the parameters "Modifiable". What do you guys see? What's your experience? Please provide your thoughts.
Thanks.
Hi,
Template projects are not intended to create in production solution manager, it is intended for transport( transport packages assigned, more over templates are also repository objects), better suggestion would be create template project in dev solution manager later transport it to the prd.
if you dont have dev solution manager, no other option to edit the template project in PRD, except open the PRD for changes in SE06, atleast for Local $TMP objects. but this again for other objects you need to set as modifiable depending on your scope.
more understanding please review here
