New Unexpected event 'UPDATE_DATE' in TM 8.1

Dear Experts,

Can anyone let me know what is the purpose of the unexpected event code 'UPDATE_DATE' in TM  8.1 which was not there in TM 8.0 and also not in TM 9.0 now.

The EH types ODT20_TO & ODT20_FU in TM 8.1 has been set up with the event code 'UPDATE_DATE' as an 'Unexpected Event'.

Also the EH update activity 2 in the above mentioned event handler types refers to this unexpected event code and the whole logic inside the assigned function modules corresponding to the FU (/SAPTRX/TMS_UPDATE_FU) and TO (/SAPTRX/TMS_UPDATE_TO) update activities of the respective event handlerS has been built on around the 'update_date' event.

Request some inputs on the above so that we can decide on if this update activity and the unexpected event code is really needed for the custom events we are building.

Hello Pramod,

i think this was an implementation to update Freight Order Dates from Freight Unit.

e.g. first FU of an FO has Loading Begin and this date should be transferred to the FO.

This is now handled with the propagation mode in the FU Type in TM.

So it is ok that it has vanished on EM side.
