Solution manager error in kernel

Dear Experts,

     I was trying to upgrade the kernel of solution manager 7.0 EHP1 form 701/122 to 720/400. After upgrading the instance went down and all process like ABAP,JAVA process etc...... disappeared, i copied back the old kernel and it is working fine. please advice.

Hi,

  Sometimes, the downloaded kernel may be corrupted.

Please try downloading the following files and check whether it works.

1.SAPEXE*

2.SAPEXEDB*

3.disp+work

4.sapstartsrv.exe files

Take a backup before changing anything

Please follow instructions provided in Note 1636252 - Installing a 7.20 kernel in SAP Web AS 7.00/7.01/7.10/7.11.

Hello Philip;

As you are upgrading release of kernel from 701 to 720, first of all check whether 720 kernel supports your system release or not?(I mean kernel is downward compatible to your release or not?)

You can check it by SVERS table of DB independent SAR info.

If yes then it should work, as 720/PL400 is stack kernel ans is highly stable.

Please paste dev_disp, work process logs here.

Did you keep log files from your work directory? How did you do this upgrade? Via JSPM or manually?
