Errors in Software Update Manager (SUM) when upgrading to 7.3EHP1

Hi all,

I have installed NW 7.3 JAVA only.  I am currently attempting to update it to NW 7.3 EHP1 using the Software Update Manager (SUM) tool.

When executing, I get the following errors when the tool shows the components to be upgraded:

Rejected due to following reason(s):

• 001 : Component sap.com/AJAX-RUNTIME cannot be updated to higher release

• 005 : Component sap.com/AJAX-RUNTIME is part of the following usage type: BASIC;

I get this error for all of the current deployed components that I want to be patched.  How do I get around this error?  Thanks in advance.

Hi All,

Thanks for the comments.

With SUM we cant upgrade the SP level. Only Patch is supported.

So two methods only.

1. Through SOLMAN.

2. JSPM.

I followed JSPM and updated the SP.

Kindly refer the SAP Note 1837305 - SCA provided using Manually Prepared Directory are rejected

and not detected by SUM tool during validation or while scanning

Hi Sriram,

The note tells we can only apply patches but not SP's.

Then what we can do if we want to apply SP for a single component?

Can I know the path of the log file your asking.

Since its a manual download I am not having ""/usr/sap/put/SUM/sdt/log/SUM/CREATE-STACK-FROM-FILE_02.LOG" log " file.

I am getting the same as

Rejected due to following reason(s):

• 001 : Component sap.com/AJAX-RUNTIME cannot be updated to higher release

• 005 : Component sap.com/AJAX-RUNTIME is part of the following usage type: BASIC;

and also in few with  "ESP" instead of BASIC. What it means is that missing the Dependencies or what?.

Please let me know?

Hello,

i'm facing the same error:
I'm doing a PI system upgrade from NW 7.1 EHP 1 to NW 7.3 NW 1 using
the SUM-tool version 1.6.
While deploying the java sp's I get the following message:
Error: Exception constantly com.sap.ASJ.dpl_api.001041 Deployment
deployment phase [DependenciesResolvingException]

and also errors like:

Rejected due to following reason(s):

• 001 : Component sap.com/AJAX-RUNTIME cannot be updated to higher release

• 005 : Component sap.com/AJAX-RUNTIME is part of the following usage type: BASIC;

problem solved:

I reset the SUM en restart it.

During the upgrade step 5.3 configuration to the question selected components only those components selected that are active in the system before starting the upgrade.
