Hi Expert,
In settlement, the actual costs (and, if required, revenues) incurred in a commercial
object are allocated, in whole or in part, to one or more receivers. Offset postings
that credit the sender object are generated automatically. The debit postings
assigned to the sender object remain after settlement is performed and can be
displayed. The settled costs are updated to the respective receiver objects and are
displayed in reporting.
i have two questions here...
1. what is Offeset postings? why it is required.
2. Please let me know various reports where i can see what portion/amt of cost are settled to which receivers....and other project result reports where i can see the profit and loss of the project.

Hi,
One example of offset posting could be due to currency rate fluctuations. Another could be tax rate changes.
There are many reports available in the standard system. As a heads up refer tcode CJID or CJIC.
