Unable to retrieve Structure type information during BDC Model generation

Hi all,

We are developing a simple model that gets a list based on Matnr. We are using a custom made RFC as datasource and are using the generic approach.

We only have a query operation defined in the Data Model.

When I generate the BDC Model based on this Data Model it throws an error after generating the proxies:

Unable to retrieve Structure type information :

Message no. /IWFND/CM_DESIGNTIME141

Anyone encountered this error message before.

** I also tried to create a model based on a Standard SAP RFC, but I get the same error when generating the BDC Model.

Hi Nizaar,

There is a bit more information that can be retrieved from the log (via the blue button, see also this post on how to retrieve this information: http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/Duetent/BDC+Browser+Exception). Can you please add the details to this thread?

Hi Alex,

It says error during generation when I click on the blue button.

But yesterday we managed to solve the problem. We are using CE 7.2 for an ESR, but it was not the right patch level, it needs to be minimally SP4. After that it went without a problem.
