Quality hold required but not at stock level

My requirement is as below. Finished goods once produced will be 'holded' for quality inspection , but at the same time will not be available for customer dispatch. Planner will see these stocks as GOOD stock but cannot deploy to fulfill the customer requirement. We are using in process quality inspection and the finished goods are not subject for Quality inspection after GR due to in process inspection. We have tried to implement inspection type 04 , but again this will add much work to the existing work force to make this quality to unrestricted movement.

in material master remove the Post to insp. stock indicator for inspection type 04, so that inspection lot will generated and stock will directly move to Unrestricted use

We have in-process quality required as we don't have adequate man power to perform final inspection at the end. The in-process inspection is tightly controlled to shop floor system. The real problem is that when the final finished goods receipt happen , it is still not a GOOD stock and will require a temporary hold time before it can be shipped to customer.

Also this temporary hold is just for short time and that is why it is not wanted by Quality person to perform any action on this type of hold. The temporary hold automatically get converted to good stock after 2 days.

We don't want to mix the this hold to genuine QI stock where the Quality user are performing the result recording , but at the same time a visibility in the system to all people over these temp stock hold.

I am not sure what you are saying about removing Post to inspection for 04, then how the  stock will be moved out of QI to unrestricted. ?

As mentioned by others,

03 will not have stock control. Either stock is in good condition or bad condition, you can't keep any control on the stock.

Else by default, Production GR should be done against Blocked Stock to hold for some days. Later stage, you can release that to Unrestricted.

Another option, you can go for 04 Inspection instead of 03 Inspection which has both Quality as well as Quantity control.

Hi Michale,

Use early inspection lot.

Assign inspection type 04, and in an Inspection setup check 'Control insLot' here you to select 'Early Lot creation for order item'

Now, as soon as u release Production order, Inspection lot will be created. You can record results.Here stock will not be available for posting.

After production quantity confirmation same lot will be stock relevant. You can make UD and do Stock posting.

I could see that you have said "in process inspection" couple of times in your problem description.

If it is 03 ,then does it actually helping you ?

Because it is not stock relevant first of all.

Iead scenario in this case would be to use 04 inspection & post the stock in block stock with storage location "QRNT"( say "quarentine) .Move the stock from block to unrestricted when needed by MB1b >>343.

This will solve all your purpose.
