AFARIA User partition & Application Mgmt.

Hi All,

We are using AFARIA 7.0 SP1 for managing Application life cycle. The Challenge right now we are facing is that we cannot delete the application we provisioned for the user earlier. Is remote wipe is the only possible solution for application deletion, Can any one guide me on this.

Also in Many document SAP talks about Device Partition (Business/Personal) Can anyone explain me about that concept and it's impact.

Thanks

-Arun

What device type are you asking for here?

With iOS devices you can use the "MDM managed" option, but the app has to be deployed by Afaria, if the app is already deployed then you can't retroactively apply the MDM Managed setting to the device.

If you have the .mobileprovisioning file for the app then you could send that down as an iOS policy to the device and then revoke that policy, but that usually requires the device reboots before the app will be disabled.

If you are using a Samsung Android device then the SAFE api's allow for a Remove App list that will remove an app, whether it was sent through Afaria or not.

Hi Stephen,

Thanks for response. We are using Android devices. We tried with Galaxy tablet and it worked out. We verified that currently 3 device (Galaxy S, Note & Tablet) types supports Application removal. Does AFARIA have any roadmap to cover the application removal for other device types with in android.

Thanks
