IE settings in ECC and SAP-PI

Hi All Experts,

I am about to maintain settings in Tx SXMB_ADM of production server of SAP-PI as well as ECC

for both asynchronous as well as synchronous messages.

Requirement:

1.To retain asynchronous messages for display at Tx sxmb_moni for 30 days in both ECC and PI.

2.To retain Synchronous messages for display at Tx sxmb_moni for 30 days in both ECC and PI.

Based on the requirement, I configured as shown in the screenshot.

1. Is the above settings fine?

2. Do I need to archive it if I entered the Archive category parameter and what are the steps to archive it?

3. Any better idea , please share?

Regards

Alice

Hi Rebecca,

If you are configuring  on production system, then i think only four parameter is sificient to complete your requirements.

Only DELETION category is required to retain message for specified days .

Let me explain you regarding persist_duration parameter under DELETION category

"The persist duration is the time that a successfully processed synchronous or asynchronous message or IDX5 reference is kept in the database. Once this period of time has passed, the system deletes the message or its IDX5 reference with the next delete run. "

In production environment  generally we don't canceled  message  manually in so we don't need to maintain parameter under ARCHIVE category .

I think this will clear your doubt .

thanks and regards,
