Idoc to file interface

hello everybody!

I'm working with a PI 7.1 .I need crate a Idoc to file interface. My problem is that in output i need crate 1...unbounded files (same number as a idoc segment).

I found this document:  "SAP XI/PI 1..N messages Split Interface without BPM" and i'm triing to follow it.

When i try to create Message Template from my Message mapping i have this error:

Selected source element must be assigned a data type or a complex type

Obvsliuly my mapping is Idoc to Data Type.

I tried to export idoc and reimport as externa definition. Same result!

I read in documentation that is possible create Mapping template from Data Type, Idoc, RFC, etc etc. So is not true?

how can i solve it?

maybe i need follow other way?

Hi Alex,

You must select the elements in source and target which have type assigned to it then it will create the mapping template for those types, some of the elements does not have type assigned to it if you select those elements then you will get this type of error. may be you are selecting root node of the IDOC element select the IDOC element then you dont get this error, but remember target side also you must select the proper element which have type assigned.
