ChaRM - Defect Correction flow

Hi,

We use the Defect correction to fix the chnages , when they are in 'Test' phase of Maintenance cycle.

Correct me if my understading is wrong. As I don't fine any materail on Defect corerction in rkt

Step1) Defect corerctions are created during 'Test' Phase of Maintenance cycle.

Step2) You need to create it independently ( I mean no linkage to RFC or Old Chnage Document)

Step 3) You enter 'Project' ( having Test phase) & 'Component'

Step 4) set status to ' In correction'.

Step 5) create TR & make your chnages & Release the TR

Step6) Perform action 'Pass to restest'

Step 7) Import to quality system through task List

Step 😎 Chnages appear in Quality system

Step 9) When Phase chnage to 'Go live' import in to Production

Step 10) Set the status to 'Confirm Defect Correction'

Please have look & give your feedbacks

I am facing one more issue, not able to perform action 'Confirm Defect Correction'

Regards

P Kumar

Hi Kumar,

1. yes, you need to import the defect correction to production after the go live phase by the action import TR background on PRD.

2. Defect correction is for entire project , neither with UC nor NC, please check

http://help.sap.com/saphelp_sm71_sp05/helpdata/en/87/79b3de37224a449bc5d52c30cefee0/content.htm

3. Create test message ( defect correction ) as same as Normal change, copy standard SMTM with Z profile, but only on the Test Phase, you can create test message, the small example given with the old SM 7.0 ehp1 in this blog. This might help you.

4. As per your error concern, make sure you have any inconsistent with project cycle status and maintenance cycle

http://help.sap.com/saphelp_sm71_sp05/helpdata/en/87/79b3de37224a449bc5d52c30cefee0/frameset.htm

Please check.

Hi All,

I'm wondering how you managed to resolve the following error?

The error while pefroming action the 'Confirm Defect Correction'

Diagnosis

Inconsistency when setting the document status. The status was reset. Resolve the error described in the error or warning message.

System Response

The operation has been cancelled.

Procedure

Resolve the error described in the detailed error message.

Also if you can point me to the SAP demo for the entire Defect Correction process. Somehow it is't available netiher in SAP RKT, nor at SAP Solution Manager part of the SAP Marketplace.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Thanks,

MM

Thanks Jansi,

I am using SP6.

When status is 'To be Retested' I see the action 'Confirm Defect Correction'.

I have below queries

1) Do we need to import defect corrections to Production as well

2) How we will come to know that which Defect correction is for which RFC or Change Document. Where is the rleation link.

3) Can we create Defect correction from RFC or From Change Document. Is this facility available.

Below error I am getting while paefroming action 'Confirm Defect Correction'

Diagnosis

Inconsistency when setting the document status. The status was reset. Resolve the error described in the error or warning message.

System Response

The operation has been cancelled.

Procedure

Resolve the error described in the detailed error message.
