Dear IS Oil Experts,

Currently our team is working for an Oil and Gas client. I just would like to confirm if setting up of QCI in HPM requires a third party (non sap) program for it to work or SAP can handle it provided IS Oil module is properly installed? Please share your thoughts on this. Thank you.

Kind regards,

Mark

Dear Mark, From the error message attached, it looks like QCI routines are not installed correctly. Setup of QCI in HPM requires additional routines which may be procured from 3`rd party vendors.

Pls review following links for more information :

hi Jerin,

Thank you for providing your thoughts. Unfortunately i dont have access to the above links. Correct me if Im wrong but my understanding is there are two ways for automatic conversion of one UoM to another UoM. One is the R/3 IS Oil downstream system contains ASTM/API conversion routines and the other one is through external customer function module. I might be wrong. Take note that we are just testing the system and we are not yet in the realisation phase (still in the blueprint stage). Can you please confirm if there is/are additional routines required for the QCI to work properly? Or There is also an option not to buy anymore as SAP can handle it and can be done through correct configuration? Thank you in advance.

Kind regards,

Mark

Dear Mark,

SAP IS Oil only offers you the Quantity Conversion Interface, not the conversion routines. SAP itselfs does not perform any conversions. For this conversion routines you have to contact a third party. On my experience I have always worked with QuantityWare, they offer you a certified solution for the whole oil & Gas quantity conversions.

You can check out their website for more details: http://www.quantityware.com/overview/index.php?rubric=Welcome&PHPSESSID=qdcmr0muvqt67soq1ih8c1r987

I hope this helps you.

Best Regards.

No problem Mark.

Please take a look at the Website  Under "Products & Services"

--> Download --> Document Download - General Product Information

http://www.quantityware.com/product/index.php?rubric=17

Licensing Questionnaire : http://www.quantityware.com/_data/Licensing_Questionnaire.pdf

With this knowledge, you can then check the price Matrix:

http://www.quantityware.com/_data/QW_Pricing_2012.pdf

and be careful to select the product "BCP", there is also the CTP product in the matrix, but this is without calculations. . .

Kind regards.
