System copy of productive SOLMAN 7.1

Hello!

We use SOLMAN 7.1 with latest support package for Incident Management.

In order to have more flexibilty and developtment and test functions we would like to make a system copy of this productiv SOLMAN.

Are there any considerations/procedure to do before and after the system copy?

Otherwise we will copy all the incidents tickets into the new DEV/TEST SOLMAN.

Thank you!

Hi Alex

Any specific reason for copying entire system with incident management data??

Typically when you have 2 tier you copy the configuration not the data or entire tickets

better you install another version of solman 7.1 and get the entire config transported on it from solman production

and then link all the development boxes of satellite systems to solman for testing incident etc.

hope it helps

Hello!

I went through the SOLMAN system copy guide that does not cover any points regarding the copy of productive SOLMAN with all the incidents.

We would like to prefer system copy procedure because of customizing settings of Incident Management, IBase/Business Partners, system definitions, etc.

Hi

Please be informed that system export will have all the changes that are done in the source system.

Then import will make sure that the target system is same as the source system.

If possible, maintain the same hostname and IP Address in your target system as like in the source system.

You need to make sure that target system is identical like source system.

Thanks and Regards,

Hi,

There is no special system copy procedure for solution manager, just follow the regular system copy post/ pre steps for SAP NW 7.x systems here,

http://service.sap.com/instguidesnw70 --> Installation --> Installation - SAP NetWeaver Systems -->

best option is system copy, for other options check my earlier reply here http://scn.sap.com/thread/1929241

Thanks
