Hi, I would like to know why we do CATs to tranfer the time sheet cost ? We have PO's raised and GR done and there is no process to transfer them. Can the time sheets entries be made directly made into projects.
CATS: Transfer to Project System
Time Sheet: Transfer to Project System
You use this report to transfer time sheet data to Project System (PS). The report generates confirmations for networks and, if necessary, goods movements for backflushes.
You can transfer time sheet data that has the processing status 30 (Approved) or 60 (Canceled). The report transfers the records from the interface table CATSPS to PS.
When generating confirmations for networks, the system also triggers an activity allocation in Controlling.
To postprocess records that the system could not post, you require authorization for the Network Confirmation: Collective Confirmation transaction (CN27).
Transferring canceled data to Project System can lead to poorer system performance because, for canceled records, the system reads all confirmations on the respective operation for each cell that has been changed in the time sheet. The burden on the system increases accordingly.
We recommend therefore that you
If you select the Log option, the report displays a log once the transfer has been completed.
If records could not be posted during transfer, the report generates a separate error pool. The records containing errors are flagged as transferred. You can postprocess them in PS. Note however that the data in PS no longer corresponds to the data in the time sheet

Hi,
I am not sure exactly what do you mean?. You mean to say avoidance of CAT5 & CAT9.
The logic here is every time entry hours are reviewed and approved and then transferred to resepctive receivers. It is general process being practiced.
Note that there is possibility that there are rejections and also changes being done after approval. After completing all these steps we need to transfer the final approved hours. Because of all these factors involved transferring of approved time is necessary and hence we use CAT5. This practice is being followed in Industry and same is being followed in SAP. This is not a new thing.
Where as GR/IR these are resulted in business transaction which results posting directly.
Hope above sense.
Thanks,
Sudhakar

Hi,
Do you mean that you want to post actuals without having to follow the timesheet proces? If yes, then this can surely be done. You can use tcode KB21N for this.
