CI isolated from load balancing

Dear Team,

We  have central instance & 2 dialog instance in our PRD landscape. In CI, parameter rdisp/gui_auto_logout set as 50 seconds.Users ain't allowed to logon in CI, if they try, system logoff them in 50 seconds. They use dialog instances for their work, but if we implement Load balancing concept in PRD, How can we isolate CI from this, since we know load balancing take care of servers switching which is transparent  to users.

For eg:- when they click on Load balancing shortcut on SAP GUI, system will switch them on CI or DIs. Is it possible, that system switch users to DIs only.

Hi,

Create a Logon group in SMLG without CI, and publish it in your SAPGui setting.

Hi Sumit ,

If you implement the concept of logon group.

This will help you to meet the scenario you want.

Hello,

Create a logon group in SMLG and include all the app servers in it as per your requirement and exclude the CI.

So whenever a user try to login using this logon group then he will not be directed to CI.

For more info on Logon group creation , refert to this link : http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/c4/3a64b4505211d189550000e829fbbd/content.htm

Pretty straight forward. What you have to remember is ask the users to use the newly created login group 🙂

Correct.

If the local logon-pad configurations is used then it would be better to create a set of configuration file / host / services files and distribute it to the users so that they dont have direct CI server entries.

To use  server configuration files you can refer to the SAP Note 1426178 for more  info.

Note 1426178 - SAP Logon (Pad): create/distribute server configuration file

Its appreciated if  point are given for  the posts if it has been helpful / resolved your issue.

Mudasir.
