Dear expert

This is new SAP Oracle Cluster on Windows environment. The oracle archive disk was full during SGEN.

For the backup to disk, I have modified initPRD.sap to make backup to disk and restarted oracle, due to zero space in the archive disk, the oracle PRD.WORLD is not able to online and cannot make backup through the brtools.

Please advise!! how to make backup ?

do I need to full database online / offline backup then do the archive log backup ?

but, how the brtools able to make backup ?

Please share experience.

Regards

Hi,

Move the oraarch files to a different location . Make the oraarch disk free. Then try to start the DB . It should come up .

Is oracle up now? If yes, please login to sqlplus "/as sysdba? and execute the following command.

alter system set log_archive_dest_1='LOCATION=/oracle/<SID>/<New folder location>'  scope=memory;

It will start to create archive log in a different location. You can take a backup of the archive files and make the oraarch directory free. Once it is free, execute the above command with the old destination.

Or you can move the archive files from your oraarch files to another location and trigger the backup .

You can it in two ways.

YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO TAKE OFFLINE BACKUP IF ARCHIVELOG IS FULL.

BUT ENSURE THAT SAPBACKUP OR YOUR BACKUP LOCATION IS DISK FREE.

If you are still facing the issue, kindly attach the error screenshot.

Please check and provide your feedback.

Thanks and Regards,
